What this is

Public by law. Private in practice.

How a permit gets pulled is public information. Almost none of it is anywhere you can read it. It sits in a phone tree, a PDF from 2011, and the head of one person at the counter. Or one coordinator at your shop, and when that person is out, the job stops. We put it in writing, confirm it, and keep it current.

Written by the trade, not the city

The counter gives you the rule. A contractor gives you the reality: which portal works, who answers, how long review actually takes.
